Lil' Dumpliing Tiered Rag Skirt
Your favorite little girl will look adorable dancing around in this rag stitched Lil' Dumpling skirt. When made with 100% cotton homespun fabric, this retro style tiered skirt is soft and hangs very nicely. After the skirt is stitched, wash and dry it to create all the ragged and frayed edges that give it such unique character. All the exposed raw edges are securely stitched to prevent additional and unwanted fraying. Only homespun fabric will result in the soft fray of the ragging. Regular quilting cottons will not fray.
The Lil' Dumpling skirt is currently a free digital download pattern available on our fabric website, JubileeFabric.com. The pattern is very flexible and adaptable and includes instructions for three sizes: Small (girls size 2/3), Medium (girls size 4/5), and Large (girls size 6). Larger sizes could be easily created by adding more tiers and adding width to each tier.
Included in the pattern are instructions for cutting the appropriate sized skirt, detailed assembly instructions (including instructions for simple ragging of the edges), and lots of step-by-step pictures to guide you.
Homespun fabric is great to craft and sew with because the yard dyed fabric is the same on both sides. There is no front or back. Use your leftover homespun scraps to create new craft projects or embellish your existing crafts with torn homespun bows and ribbons.
